Baltimore is rich with American history, making it a beautiful place to visit and more importantly, marry the love of your life. Celebrate your freedom to marry in one of the oldest cities in Maryland.

  • The Flag House & Star-Spangled Banner Museum, founded in 1927, lives here and has been open for the public for 76 years. The museum is dedicated to Mary Young Pickersgill, the creator of America’s Star-Spangled Banner. The massive 30 x 42-foot banner flew over Fort McHenry during the War of 1812. Francis Scott Key was inspired and wrote a poem, which became our National Anthem. Pickersgill’s flag still hangs today at the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of American History.

  • African American history is deep rooted in Baltimore by being the home to historical figures Thurgood Marshall, Frederick Douglass, Isaac Myers, Billi Holiday, Cab Calloway, and more. The National Great Blacks in Wax Museum, was the country’s first wax museum of African American history as well.

  • The American Railroad was born here.

  • Baltimore is home to the USS Constellation. This ship is the last Civil War vessel afloat. It was built in 1854 and is the last all-sail warship built by the US Navy.
